So 2 weeks ago the laguna had its first huge fail. It wouldn't start. Charged the battery just incase still didn't start. After sh*ting a brick thinking its bound to be expensive I contacted my isuall garage. So after a chat with than I added the rac homestart which wasn't cheap but at the time I was expecting it needed towing to a garage so it was worth a try, anyway they came out scratched there head, talked about cambelt snapping and furnish being blown. They acctually found the fault. It's a sticking throttle butterfly. Horay so then we talked about price to be replaced and more bricks came out as it was near 500 as an estimate. So i drove to the garage and they suggested cleaning it. (sods law its in a sh*tter of a place and inlet gaskets need replacing to get to it. So I said do it just to try it. And it worked for 3 days. Them checking cost 20 mates rates. But I've left it and everytime I start the car its been bonnet up engine cover off and press the arm over, cover back on bonnet down get in and starts lovely.

Bare in mind I've not looked at it as its usually dark and i can't be assed. Today I looked at it and there is a grub screw that stops the valve opening fully. Which looks to have wound itself in. So I've just wound it out and jobs a good un.

I must start looking at fixing stuff first again I'm wasting money!

that pretty bad that tim, if your local garage missed this and try to charge you for a new part, which i take it wouldnt of worked and you still been left with the same problem. yeah much cheaper to fix the car yourself.

Thb its the electrics that are the worst. Why French manufacturers decided to go all out on electrics (that go so wrong) ill never know.

Tim, how's the lag going other than that? I'm on the verge of purchasing a petrol version bus.

I think its a good car tbh I think the petrols are supposed to be better engines as mine isn't great on fuel but its a 2.2 and it takes a lot to shift it LOL. Otherwise the tyre valve needed replacing but that's it. The wheel sensors throw wobbelies all the time but its not important.

Just check every bit of electric works. Everything on mine works except my passenger mirror won't self close but i didn't know it did it at the time.

Confidence in your ability will always save you having to fork out to the garages. My car never goes to the garage unless it's for MOT or tyres. Lol.

Also, I'd ask for some money back from the garage because they didn't even fix the problem?
