this is just a reminder e-mail that club-306 will be attending the castle combe action day in september and i want you to come with me and the rest of us. i have 27 stand spaces booked and only 16 people who are comming so i need more numbers guys. bring the family and have a good day out with us.

castle combe has always been a huge favorate with the regular meet goers as its a good old fashioned show were its all about the cars and track action. we have been going to castle combe for the last 3 years now and don't intend to stop till we physicaly can't do any more.

i need your help to make the meet as good as it always is, wether your a regular or a new arrival your all welcome to come, bring your car and show it to all the visiters at combe. it doesn't matter if your car is in mint condition (i can say happily mine isn't) or if you have won awards at past shows. we always have a varyed range come with us from heavily modded d turbo's to track ready gti6's to standard 1.4's.

it only costs £10 to bring the car and the driver ( passengers are £10 on the day), in the £10 drivers pay to us we then provide food via the renound Sveny's Snack Shack!!! this has tea and coffee and bacon butties included (drivers only but donate £2 and passengers can have food to)

last time i didn't get enough food but don't worry this time im bringing tripple!!

Again, you've probably all noticed this (unless of course Mr Stevie Wonder is a member!) but John updated the forum software while we were all at FCS (Was it really over a month ago?!) and we're now graced with a new look more advanced forum! Over the coming months we'll start implementing some of the new things that come with the forum software. Please bare with us and we'll get there. Things to look forward to include;

• Blogging Area - I'll endeavour to get this going and get a blog going.
• Members Only Gallery
• Reputation system - Done something good/nice it's about time we stood you out from the crowd.
• And hopefully some more things that have slipped my mind!

Anyhow! Now the important part and focal point of this newsletter!

We're heading back to Castle Combe! Saturday 11th September is the day that Castle Combe are hosting the AJEC Racing Summer Performance Car Action Day. At the last action day we had a packed stand and plenty of people around so you could put names to faces, this is THE car show to come to if you want to socialise with other forum members.

Club-306 have a stand and you could be there with us by simply getting your name down on the list in the Castle Combe Take 2 thread. More details about the show as we find out more. Although one thing is for certain, it wouldn't be Castle Combe without the obligatory track action! Of which, you have a chance to take part. Sessions are £30 a go for roughly 15 minutes however these will need to be booked directly with Castle Combe. If you need any help with this please contact Tim via PM or email him - Tim@Club-306.com - for more information.

If you're thinking of going on track please take note of the following:

Eligible Cars
Cars must be to MOT standards to be eligible for the general sessions. Although the scrutineers reserve the right to refuse any car track time which, in their opinion, does not conform to our general regulations.

SOUND LIMITS – Your members cars will be tested
All vehicles using Castle Combe Circuit are sound tested. The limits are enforced throughout the day and are set at 100d(b)A measured at 4500rpm on a static test with the sound metre set at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet.

Your car, even if it is totally road legal, will not be allowed on the circuit if it does not meet these requirements. Sound checks can be carried out prior to purchasing Track passes, and Merlin Motorsport located at the Circuit, offer a range of bolt-on “Silencing Accessories.”

Club-306 donned its sun cream, then rain coats, then sun cream again for this years French Car Show at Rockingham, and what an event! With 30 people camping the night before at Wing Hall it was bound to be a brilliant weekend. For those who watched the football I guess the 1-1 draw may have dampened the day but for us non football people it made no difference. The camping as always was no let down and you all did the club proud.

So coming to the big event, I arrived early.... well i thought i was early but there were already 10 cars at our stand waiting. we set to work organising our stand in the best way we could regardless of the staff telling me we were stealing other clubs stand space. Out of all the stands there i think ours was set out the best. Our numbers this year have rocketed to about 36 cars this year over our usuall 28 cars we have and i was very pleased to see such a veriety of 306's on the stand ranging from jay's wide arch d turbo to clarky gti-5's track monster. But not only those highly modded cars on the stand stood out magpie2130's 306 xs took the clubs car of the show award.

New things with the club
The forum is going through a new upgrade so please be patient with John whilst he sorts issues and gets it all running smoothly.

Also the club is looking for regional leaders to show the way, in an endeavour to get regional meets up and going the club is looking for keen people to take on these roles. please find the info here, if you think you can help us please contact me.

Events
Up and coming events include the tsr rolling road day on the 3rd of july at tsr performance in bridgwater somerset. all prices and info can be found here, the price of this event will go down the more cars we have. After the rolling road is complete there shall probably be some pug grub in order but that is all to be decided.


Castle combe's 2nd action day of the year is on the 11th of September and this is a club favorite were we usually have a good number of new and old members on show and on track.
